My Winter Coat
(The Inside Part)
The following interview is presented exactly as it was transcribed on 2 January 2010.
what was your motivation behind making this book? well. i was at my friend tims house one night and i had this idea to make a book that would reveal a familiar phrase across the pages of the book. so, in essence, the reader is subject to suspense and pacing at a rate which you wanted control over? well, kind of. yes to some extent. why such a crude form? i mean, it is not even bound. when i was at tims, i asked him for a piece of paper so i could create a quick dummy for myself. i ended up liking the dummy with the paper towel paper he had provided me. at home when i pulled out a roll of paper towels, the texture just wasnt as wonderful as tims paper towels. i asked to borrow a roll of his. i think i ended up trading a roll of mine for a roll of his. each book is made from one sheet from the roll. how big is each book? about 5.5×2.75 inches. i used a blue ball point pen to write the phrase. so? how many did you make? 80.
